The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is confirming the temporary closure of its Clinton Public Hospital Operating Rooms as a result of unexpected damages to the ceiling of the second floor of the hospital.
Construction work has begun and repairs are expected to last approximately 12 weeks. Patients impacted will be contacted with details of an alternate schedule. Additional capacity for the majority of the surgical procedures is available at HPHA's Stratford General Hospital while the remaining procedures will be postponed and rescheduled when the Clinton Public Hospital Operating Rooms re-open.
"While an unfortunate situation to be facing, our patients' care and safety remains our top priority and we are taking every step to ensure the disruption to patient care is minimal," confirms Andrew Williams, President and CEO. "All staff, physicians and volunteers are commended for how they have stepped up to address service relocation needs and renovation requirements."
All other services at the Clinton Public Hospital are unaffected, except for the smallTALK preschool speech and language program which has been relocated to Seaforth Community Hospital for the duration of the closure.
