Stroke is a medical emergency. If you experience any of these signs, call 9-1-1. Do not drive to the hospital. An ambulance will get you to the best hospital for stroke care. Face - is it drooping? Arms - can you raise both? Speech - is it slurred or jumbled? Time - to call 9-1-1 right away.

HPHA Implementing Temporary Laboratory Adjustments

March 13, 2019

As a result of recent laboratory staff retirements and ongoing recruitment challenges, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is implementing temporary laboratory adjustments across all sites aimed at ensuring timely and appropriate support to patients in our emergency departments, inpatient units and registered clinics.

This staffing reality will result in community laboratory services at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Site being closed effective March 18, 2019 until further notice. This closure affects “walk-in patients”; those individuals who are not inpatients, or registered to a hospital clinic or the emergency department.

The Laboratory Departments at HPHA's Clinton Public Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital and Stratford General Hospital remain open for community patients. Hours of operations are as follows:

  • Clinton Public Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Seaforth Community Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Stratford General Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alternate laboratories for community patient specimen collection include the following:
