People with type O negative (O-) are considered universal donors, as they can donate red blood cells to all other blood type recipients. Service animals and pets (cat or dog) are allowed.

The request for pet visitation must be directed to the Manager of the Patient Care Unit or his/her delegate to determine the appropriateness, time, place and length of visit.
