It is especially helpful if patients arriving at the Emergency Department bring an updated list of all current medication they are taking. This list should include: prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and vitamins, herbs and any supplements.

Physiotherapy helps patients maximize movement and functional ability following an illness or accident. A Physiotherapist through teaching, training and practice, works with each patient to help with balance, endurance, strength, walking, stairs, functional movement and education related to individual goals.

Priority is given to referrals for acute conditions e.g. trauma, post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents, chest conditions (pneumonia), fractures and acute spinal and musculoskeletal conditions.

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing should be worn for your appointment.

Please note that a physician's referral is required. Upon referral, an assessment is initiated and treatment provided as indicated.

Also note that a waiting list may exist and referrals will be prioritized based on the medical information received. Individuals with private insurance and/or third party coverage are encouraged to seek services at a community rehabilitation clinic or through a private provider.

Notification of a cancellation of an appointment is appreciated 24- 48 hours in advance if possible.
