The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is recruiting a Full Time General Radiologist to join a group of six radiologists in the Department of Medical Imaging at Stratford General Hospital.

Position Description

The successful candidate will have training in and be expected to report all modalities of Diagnostic Radiology including x-ray, fluoroscopy, US, CT and MRI. The individual will work collaboratively as a member of the imaging team and have a strong commitment to patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.

We are seeking candidates with sub-specialty expertise and experience in Breast & Women’s Imaging. This will include mammography, US and MRI imaging as well as biopsy and localizations under US and Mammo guidance. At this time we are not equipped for MRI biopsy. The Breast Centre has two digital mammography units and contrast enhanced mammography and tomosythesis will be added in 2022. Additionally, there is one dedicated ultrasound unit.

The candidate should also have established skills in minor non-vascular interventional procedures to include US and CT guided abdominal biopsy, thyroid biopsy, abdominal abscess drainage and cholecystectomy tube placement. Radiology also provides back up support to the nurses who place PICC lines at the bedside so that is a desirable skill. Abdominal and pelvic MRI expertise is an asset. The ability to perform or willingness to learn hip injections and CT colonography is considered an asset.

Onsite radiologists work four days/week and limited weekend daytime hours. Services for all HPHA sites are reported from the Stratford General Hospital site with no travel required. After hours call coverage is currently covered by a remote on-call service.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest and/or experience in leadership positions.

FRCPC in Diagnostic Radiology is required. Must be eligible for CPSO licensure in Ontario.

Position to commence in Summer 2023, or can be negotiated.
