It's Pride Season!
June 06, 2023
At the HPHA, we know that we are strengthened by the diverse thoughts, experiences and people that make up our organization. Everyone in the HPHA community has a role to play, and contributes to creating a healthy, safe and creative environment.
June is Pride month in Canada which is kicked off with festivals, parades and other celebrations from coast to coast. The purpose of this commemorative month is to recognize the impact that 2SLGBTQ individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. Pride Month is a time for celebration, and a time to renew our commitment to solidarity and activism, something that is rooted in the origins of Pride. Courageous activism has brought and brings us further to ensuring that 2SLGBTQ members of the community can live free from hate and discrimination.
At HPHA, we recognize that we still have more work to do until all members of the 2SLGBTQ community have full equality, and we are committed to helping bring about the changes to ensure that 2SLGBTQ Canadians live healthier lives. Within the HPHA we are continually working to ensure that we have a diverse and inclusive culture that lives within our values of Compassion, Accountability and Integrity.
