Short-term hospitalization for people with mental illness is sometimes needed to figure out a diagnosis, to stabilize symptoms, or to provide relief for a person who is struggling with the challenges of mental illness.
The Inpatient Mental Health Unit at the Stratford General Hospital is a 15-bed unit for adults aged 16 and older.
Services on the unit include:
- Assessment
- Stabilization
- Medication monitoring
- Short-term treatment
- Discharge planning
- Referrals to appropriate supports in the community
